![]() Clara is a character on the online game OtakuMUSH, and is the intellectual property of her player.![]() ![]() ![]() The only child of Marie Aleron, Clara Aleron is a native of old Earth, and was raised in the city of Kingston in an apparently affluent and socially dignified extended family. Enrolled in a private girl's school in the orbiting O'Neill colonies for secondary education, she went on subsequently to the Alliance Military Academy on Linnae upon graduation. Receiving medical degrees in xenobiology and counseling, she continued on to her field internship with the Service, acting as an emergency surgeon for a mobile medical unit for the distant border skirmishes. After three years of frontline duty, she was returned to Linnae as a staff surgeon and counselor, only to be rapidly promoted to Chief of Medical upon her predecessor's retirement. ![]() ![]() Her uniform is the crisply starched charcoal gray of a military physician, fastened down over highly polished black boots. A lighter gray stripe runs up each leg to disappear under the knee-length white coat of medical personnel. Long sleeved and double breasted, the coat is of a fairly thin material, and embroidered on one lapel with the Complex insignia, and the other with the medical caduceus in dark red. Stitched in black lettering over the right breast pocket is the single word 'Aleron.' ![]() ![]() The only child to parents never married, her mother is Marie Colleen Aleron, a systems analyst and programmer for the Alliance and stationed in Kingston, Jamaica, Earth. Her father, according to public record, is one Luc Mattieu Morphee, a Parisian artist. Her family stemming from her maternal grandmother's side is affluent and part of the Kingston socially elite. Ballet and art lessons were a standard, and yet due to her fairly roguish and nonconformist grandfather, she also is an avid drummer and a fair quick draw on the blaster. Leaving Earth at the age of twelve to attend Kensington Academy for Girls in the O'Neill colony at L2 in orbit about Earth, she excelled in secondary studies. Still, her records are dotted the entire length with one minor transgression after another of practical jokes, pranks, and general roguishness. This record continued on into her career at the Alliance Military Academy on Linnae, where she attended to her tertiary studies. She received a degree in xenobiology as well as a counselor's certificate, with the full intention of returning to a hospital on Earth for her internship. The Fleet rather assigned her to a mobile medical unit. Officially stationed on the cruiser Sekaran, the 8023rd MMU (mobile medical unit) was in realilty often found encamped on the terraformed moonbase of Cannerton IV. One of small group of surgeons lead by the commanding colonel, her reputation as a relaxed officer, practical joker, and crack medic was fully cemented here. Given the ramshackle and hurried air of the unit, minor jokes and transgressions were ignored or respected for the levity they brought, and so her records show only the highest reports for professional service. Despite the debutante upbringing, she fared as well as her counterparts on the front line, and requested an extension of the three year limit on medical personnel for front line duty, but was denied. The only stray comment in her transfer files is a cryptic, "Watch it if you borrow a pen from her." Pulled back from the fleet for reasons unknown to her right away, Clara was assigned as a staff surgeon and counselor for the Alliance Complex on Linnae, and left to readjust to a more civilized atmosphere. Within a matter of days of her transfer though, the Chief of Medical, an elderly Edreeni woman named Honalee, dropped the relative bombshell. Tactfully informing her that she was up for retirement, Honalee explained that Clara was to assume her station when she left. Not long after, and with little warning, Honalee did indeed retire, leaving the fairly young doctor with the title of Chief of Complex Medical and scrambling at her fairly low rank to fill the void left by the presence of her predecessor. Headstrong, willful, and still slightly rebellious, Clara is however the consummate professional in a counseling session or in the operating theatre. Still, her tendency to follow her impulses on instinct has in the past, and likely will in the future, cause official problems. During off-duty hours she may still be found to have traded her white coat for a glaring yellow flight jacket and billed canvas cap. Her sense of humor has yet to start manifesting itself at anyone else's expense, although there is a scoreboard in Security keeping track of her random and extremely bad puns, for which she seems to delight in the groans and dismay accorded them. ![]() ![]() ![]() The people I've met on Otaku are without a doubt the oddest, strangest lot I've ever seen. And also the most wonderful. I consider myself lucky to know these folks... Riley Gregor Addison - Alliance Security Chief, Penguin Meister, and Clara's lifemate and adored goofball |
